ABOUT THE SOCIETY
The Anglo-Boer War Philatelic Society was founded in 1957; during its
first year 41 members (4 of whom are still members) paid a subscription of 7/6d.
We now have about 160 members world wide with a subscription of £15.00 (2016).
‘The Anglo-Boer War Philatelist’ is published four times a year (March, June, September and December). The contents of the March 2014 issue includes:
- The Siege of Kimberley – Soup and Meal Tickets
- The OV/CENSOR/S Censor Mark
- Army Post Office Receipt Cards
- British POW Mail – Revisited
- Boone (Covers) at Auction
Postal Bid Auctions are held twice a year, sometimes more frequently.
Almost all items are individually described. 10% commission to the Society;
no buyer’s premium.
A Convention, comprising Members’ Displays and a Room Auction, is
held in conjunction with the A.G.M. at Royal Leamington Spa (this year at The Falstaff
Hotel on 8th May 2016).
Spring and Autumn meetings are held in London at
The Union Jack Club, Waterloo (next on 27th February 2016 and 19th November 2016).
